Paul Elder and Morgan Shepard were in partnership from 1898-1903, and during that time they published about forty books. Some of these books were illustrated and/or written by Shepard, and many were targeted for children. Elder continued to publish children’s literature throughout his career.

Was Paul Elder aka D. P. Elder?
Yes. He was born David Paul Elder, and often went by D. P. Elder. He dropped the “David” about 1902. See also the bio page on Paul Elder.
